This is the first time an M3 or M4 has been offered with all-wheel drive which BMW calls xDrive. The system is rear-biased meaning it only sends power to the front wheels
The M4 offers Apple CarPlay (with wireless) and Android Auto integration. The M4 also has USB-A and USB-C ports for charging and phone connectivity.
The M4 is equipped with the latest in-car technology that BMW has to offer. The standard navigation system is one of the better on the market although its constantly updating traffic flow is annoying.
The BMW M4 Convertible starts at $87,295 including a $995 destination charge. That’s $14,300 more than the base M4 Coupe but only $7,300 more with the same Competition xDrive trim
Each M4 is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0 litter six-cylinder engine with the Coupe making 473 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque and the Coupe making 503 hp and 479 lb-ft competition
Testing the M4 Competition at Edmunds It sprints from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds and runs the quarter mile in 11.6 seconds at 122.7 mph. That’s on par with the latest 63 coupes
The 2022 M4 is rated at 16 MPG in the city and 23 MPG on the highway. We haven’t had a chance to test the M4 on the 75-mph fuel-economy route yet
