Highlights include a high level of comfort a generous warranty and undeniable value. You can also get the Tucson as a hybrid or even a plug-in hybrid to help save gas.
Last year Hyundai redesigned the Tucson giving it more distinctive styling a modern interior and more of the latest tech features. Given that we don’t expect much to change in 2023.
It could also mean the return of Tucson with its weakly base engine and finicky touch style control. But overall the 2023 Hyundai Tucson is a very attractive option in this class. 2023 Hyundai Tucson Specs
The 2023 Hyundai Tucson will borrow a 1.6 litter “turbocharged four-cylinder” petrol from the current 150-horsepower aspirated 2 litter base model with a capacity of about 180 litres and in some markets the crossover will be equipped with Same diesel engine same volume. Identical.
However, the engine line-up will include a new 2.5 litter four-cylinder from the Theta III range available in both naturally aspirated and supercharged versions.
The engine will work with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, the 2023 crossover will be retrofitted for the first time with a full-fledged hybrid setup based on a 2- litter petrol engine.

Unfortunately the Tucson’s engine struggles to get the SUV to move with authority. Driving around town and on the highway is fine but if you’re in a hurry the sluggishness is palpable. In our testing the Tucson sprinted from 0 to 60 mph in 10.2 seconds making it one of the slowest vehicles in Intersections that we have measured over a period of time.
The rest of the driving experience was lacklustre. We like the easy straight steering and the way the Tucson keeps his composure around corners. The transmission up shifts smoothly but when you mash the gas quickly downshifts feel abrupt and rough.

The 2023 Hyundai Tucson will likely be offered with three new or updated powertrain configurations including gasoline-hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions.
Combustion-combustion models are powered by a 2.5 litter four-cylinder engine that makes 178 horsepower and 182 pound-feet of torque and is linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
On the hybrid side the turbocharged 1.6 litter four-cylinder engine dies along with a hybrid system with 229 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The hybrid system is equipped with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).
Inside Tucson 2023 there will be a focus on openness. Its no-frills design will feature a 10.25-inch snap-free infotainment screen with navigation and a hood-less digital instrument cluster to keep everything on track.

2023 Hyundai Tucson Exterior
Late last year Hyundai offered clues about the new 2023 Hyundai Tucson when it unveiled the Vision T concept at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
The exterior of the experimental car was built according to the new design concept of Sensuous Sportiness.
We’re familiar with this style direction like the eighth-generation Sonata sedan. As for the Vision T its main feature is the so-called “hidden optics” – a radiator grille illuminated by LEDs visually combined with the head optics. By the way Hyundai already uses this solution on production cars, so the new Tucson is likely to be one of them.

The Tucson offers a clear set of tech features runs fast and feels ultra-modern at this price. For starters Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard and display nicely on the available 10.25-inch touchscreen. Navigation is easy to follow if you prefer a modern native system They work well together thanks to clear directions and vivid maps. Another plus is that the voice activation recognizes commands well and doesn’t force you to strictly follow specific prompts like some competitors.
We also like the Tucson’s suite of driver aids. Blind-spot warning is helpful and adaptive cruise control works well in bottleneck traffic. The front and rear parking sensors will help you stay out of trouble when parking but their constant beeping can be tiresome.

Standard features will include an 8-inch touchscreen wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto some Bluetooth connectivity and more. An optional Bose premium sound system will also be available as a key for audiophiles and smartphones.
Hyundai will only say that certain Tucson variants will receive all-wheel drive noting that the North American version of the 2022 Tucson scheduled for a Nov. 9 launch will make a separate debut.
While the Tucson will be available globally in both long- and short-wheelbase configurations only the long-wheelbase version will make its way to the US
The new Tucson will also be available in an N-Line variant and will be sold in all markets. Hyundai didn’t tell us exactly what the N-Line might require, but we speculate it will come with the same engine as the Sonata N-Line a turbocharged 2.5 litter inline-four that emits 290 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque.
The Tucson 2023 redesign obviously starts with the front grille. Daytime running lights have been integrated into the jewel-like grille design which sits at the base of the long hood with a sonata-like horizontal line flowing through it.
All of this including the sharp edges running along the length of the car give the Tucson a sporty and aggressive look.

There’s a lot you can throw in the back of the Tucson. With 38.7 cubic feet of storage behind its rear seats it’s one of the largest in a small SUV. With the rear seats folded you can use 74.8 cubic feet of space.
The low lift and nice flat floor should make it easy to stack Pack your boxes on moving day or collect gifts for the holidays. The cabin offers a decent amount of space to store your small items. The cup holder can hold larger water bottles.

In the all-wheel-drive mode we tested the 2022 Tucson earned an EPA-estimated 26 mpg combined (24 city/29 highway). That’s not bad our drive times returned similar numbers in mixed city and highway driving indicating that the rating remains at actual use.
However, when the Tucson is equipped with AWD that number is lower than the Honda CR-V and Nissan Rogue. Given that the Tucson lacks a lot in terms of acceleration we would have liked higher numbers as well.

2023 Hyundai Tucson Prices & Release Date
There’s no official release date for the 2023 Tucson, but we expect it to arrive in fall 2022 or spring 2023.
Pricing is also unconfirmed but nothing has changed, and we expect the 2023 Tucson to remain within the 2022 Tucson’s $26,135 to $38,535 MSRP range.
The 2023 Hyundai Tucson will start at $25,550 when it goes on sale in the fall of 2022. That’s $200 more than the current model and puts it squarely in competition with the likes of the Toyota RAV4,
