In Hellcat Redeye trim with wide body kit, the Challenger produces relentless straight-line speed. Despite struggling with traction, our test vehicle hit 60 mph in 4.1 seconds the quarter-mile time was 11.8 seconds, and it hit 124 mph.

Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Engine

While the big American coupe isn’t a shining example of utility, the Challenger easily leads the pack in this category. The boot opening is large, and its capacity stuns the class with 16.2 cubic feet of midsized, and sedan-like cargo space. Rear seat backs fold 60/40 Additional utilities.
You can legally put a child (or an adult) in the back seat. The rear seats even have three sets of lower car seat anchors, so with the right seats you can fit three kids in the back. The 2022 Challenger SRT Hellcat doesn’t fuel up as hard as a competitive drinker — at least not more than its rivals. It’s rated at 13 mpg in the city and up to 22 mpg on the highway. Camaro ZL1 and Shelby GT500 up to 14/21 mpg city/highway and 12/18 mpg city/highway respectively.
The last Hellcat Challenger we ran on a 75-mph highway fuel-economy course was part of our extensive testing regimen, and it wasn’t far off the EPA estimate of 22 mpg.
Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Price
The flared fenders on the Wide body version look cooler and handle better, mostly thanks to the wider wheels and tires, so we’d go for it. While the SRT Hellcat is completely redundant, we wouldn’t opt for the Redeye model.
