2022 Kia Carnival Overview
The Kia minivan’s makeover is so dramatic, it even includes a brand-new name: Fiesta. The 2022 Fiesta replaces the aging Sedona in the Kia lineup, and its boxy SUV-like styling is no accident as the South Korean automaker aims to capitalize on its critically acclaimed success and the hot-selling Telluride SUV.
The crossed proportions of the big wheels and the signature daytime running lights flow into the grille, giving the van an upscale SUV vibe that reminds us of a Range Rover. All Fiesta models come with a 290-horsepower 3.5-liter V-6 in front-wheel drive and Eight-speed automatic transmission.
A number of driver assistance features are available as standard, including automatic emergency braking. Infotainment tech has also been upgraded with an optional dual-monitor setup with digital gauges and a central touchscreen equipped with navigation. Carnival is a more attractive minivan than the model it replaces, it earns a coveted spot on this year’s Editors’ Choice list.

Pacifica has an optional plug-in hybrid powertrain The new 2021 Sienna is only available as a hybrid, but we don’t expect Kia to offer such a setup on the Fiesta right away. Kia says the Fiesta can tow up to 3,500 pounds.
During our initial test drive, we were impressed with the Fiesta’s balanced ride and handling. It provides a smooth ride when cruising and feels composure in corners. The refined V-6 engine provides snappy acceleration and takes the Carnival to 60 mph in 7.0 seconds on our test track.

A panoramic sunroof is optional and provides a large opening in the second row, so the kids can get some fresh air. Kia says the interior space of the new Fiesta has been improved.
The wheelbase of the van and the overall length has been stretched to provide more space for people and cargo. In our testing, we placed 14 carry-on luggage behind the third-row seats for a total of 48 suitcases with all seats folded. That’s a ton of cargo space, but it should be noted that the Pacifica and Odyssey Proof is slightly roomier.
