I have yet to meet an off-road fan who disrespects the Toyota Land Cruiser. Some models old and new somewhere along the line have made their way into the minds of anyone who has ever deliberately put a transfer case in a 4LO.

The top-line stats are huge: 437 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque from the twin-turbo V6 hybrid. This beefy powertrain is standard on practically all 2023 Sequoias from the relatively basic SR5 to the flagship Capstone luxury model.

It has more goodies in TRD Pro but like Locking rear differential — none of the previous-generation Sequoias and neither did the Tundra. Meanwhile the Land Cruiser doesn’t have a hybrid option but uses less: 409 hp and 480 lb-ft.

Don’t expect off-road models to list the maximums that high as off-road suspensions with more travel rarely bring huge tow number. Even so it could still come in decent numbers.

For reference the high-performance four-wheel Tundra has less than 1000 pounds less towing than the most powerful spec. The Tow Tech Package is also standard on the Sequoia TRD Pro meaning everyone will There are trailer backup guides and straight path assistance which is reassuring.

And let’s not forget the massive waiting list for the Land Cruiser either.
